Order Screens for Employees in Dash

These instructions only apply to Foley's Dash platform.

Screening doesn't always end with onboarding.

If you have DOT-regulated employees, certain annual screening requirements apply to them; you may also want to maintain a safe working environment by periodically screening your non-regulated employees.

  1. In Dash, find the employee for whom you wish to order a screen
  2. Navigate to the Screening tab
  3. Click Order Screens
  4. Select the screens you'd like to order and let the wizard walk you through the rest
    • Certain screens might be unavailable. Hover over the red icon to learn why. Possible reasons include:
      • A screening of the same type is already in progress
      • There is a configuration issue that will prevent us from placing your order successfully
  5. If we need any consents or data to complete the screen order, we'll automatically reach out to the employee to get it.

Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR)

At least one license is required to order an MVR. If one isn't present on the employee's profile, we'll send the employee an email asking for one.

Choose a reason for the MVR:

  • Initial - this would be the MVR you run within 30 days of beginning employment
  • Annual - we run annuals automatically if the employee is in a Driver File program. You can run a one off annual to fulfill your DOT requirements.
  • Medical Certificate - to verify with the state that a newly issued medical certificate has been filed
  • Other - if you're not sure
Drug Testing
For Non-DOT (Drug-Free Workplace) drug tests, we'll ask you to select a panel. If you have custom panels with us, you'll see those; otherwise, we'll show you a standard set of DFW panels.

DOT drug tests will default to appropriate panels to satisfy DOT requirements.

Remember, certain states don't allow testing for THC. Call us if you aren't sure!
Background Checks
If you have multiple background check packages, you'll be given an opportunity to choose one. If you are unsure which one to pick, contact your customer success manager.
Occupational Health Physical
For both DOT and Non-DOT physicals, we'll ask for the type of certification.
  • New Certification - choose this option if the employee is getting a medical certificate for the first time
  • Re-certification - this is for employees who are renewing an existing medical certificate
  • Follow-up - use this to indicate that the previous physical required follow-up items to be re-checked

FMCSA Clearinghouse Query
As part of your Clearinghouse program, we take care of running your annual queries. You may want to run queries more frequently as a one-off or as part of your company policy. Remember, that each full query requires specific consent from the employee.

We'll just need you to let us know the type of query to run.
  • Limited - These are basically annuals. They require an evergreen limited consent from the employee. If you don't have one on file with us, we'll ask the employee to electronically sign one.
  • Pre-Employment - Pre-employment queries should be run within 30 days of beginning employment in order to meet DOT requirements.
